八木酒造
Yagi
Our company was established in 1877, when Yagi Sennosuke, a rice merchant from Dojima, Osaka, inherited the brewing company Yokotaya, established before the Edo Period, from Shimizu, a town famous for its water at the foot of Kasuga Primeval Forest Mountain, southeast of Nara Park. We still have the National Brewing Award prizes won since then by the Manazuru and Yagi Masamune brands. In an item attached to 1895’s nation-wide brewery ranking tables, it was recorded that Nara was the location of the heaviest sake production, and everyone there drinks it. We have inherited this tradition, and, putting great value on our rich natural environment and the voices of all our customers, we put enormous amounts of unsparing effort into brewing at the highest possible quality.
